Ford has strengthened the engine block a bit and added a balance shaft to smoothen out the roughness that comes when extra power is squeezed out of an old design. Was a quiet car for the engine its packing, though if u buy one, its not too far off in your future to add an exhaust to give it a bit meaner sound. These are a lot of no-charge extras for a single-year change and it makes the Mustang an attractive package in the sporty-car niche. Some other changes this year are things like skinnier headlights, traditional tri-bar tail lamps reminiscent of those on the original '64 Mustang and a plastic rear deck lid which lightens the load a bit and prevents rust-out. The split fold-down rear seat is handy for hauling large cargo, however. I would defenitly say give her a try.
Personally, I'd stick the standard manual at no extra price, but I'm sure that most base-line Mustangs will carry the automatic. Still, it's a formula that Ford itself violated with the relatively expensive, intercooled,…. Handling was nice, though traction was a bit rough, i put in a new pair of control arms and it vastly improved. There's not much of a change in the cabin area from last year except for things you can't see. Overall a really great car. Walkaround New Mustang styling features chiseled lines for a much more muscular appearance.
