These are just a couple of most common problems seen on these transmissions, but not all these problems may have this problem. I seen no other issue with fit of the pan and its a wonderful piece. I have found that if the overdrive band is to loose it will release to fast causing a flare on the 2-3 shift bot not really affecting the 4-5 overdrive shift. Vehicle is plated to carry up to 2600 lbs and to tow 5200. Note to Mustang owners: your stock pan may hold a wiring harness in place. Ford 5R55 can have an N, S, or W behind those numbers. So break both band adjustments loose and tighten the adjustment screw down and back off 1 turn the tighten jam nuts.
